Who we are
We are Kana & Kin. A small, family-owned children's brand founded in Kitengela, Kenya, inspired by our two children and built on the belief that every child deserves to move freely, grow confidently, and simply be a child.
Our Philosophy
We believe childhood should feel free, comfortable, and full of exploration. Every Kana & Kin piece is designed with intention: soft fabrics that respect sensitive skin, relaxed silhouettes that allow movement, timeless designs that outlast trends, and quality construction that lasts beyond one season.

Kana & Kin was born in 2020 when our founder welcomed her first child during the height of the global pandemic. Searching for newborn clothing, she found a market full of options but short on thoughtfulness — pieces that were truly comfortable, timeless, and designed with children in mind. Most were either fast fashion produced in excess, or premium brands priced far beyond what most families could reach.
Having grown up sensitive to clothing herself — seams, tight hems, and restrictive fits — she quickly noticed her daughter had inherited the same sensitivity. Her daughter naturally gravitated toward relaxed silhouettes, wide-leg pieces, and loose fits that allowed her to move easily through her day. When her son arrived, another gap appeared: the boys’ section felt narrow and dominated by loud graphics and cartoon characters, with little room for thoughtful, timeless design.
Kana & Kin was created as a direct response to those experiences. We create timeless, comfortable pieces for little ones to move, explore, and simply be children — and we are grateful you are part of this journey.
